U13 boys & girls week of June 11 & 13

U13 Boys - will run stations - Chris Macdonald (or another designated coach) will run a mass warm up with the group and then you will break into stations, with time at the end to work with your own team again on something specific or scrimmage. Chris or designated coach will blow whistle every 8-10 minutes to switch.
U13 Girls - Rory will be at your practices this week.  We will swap mass practice in this week and play mixed scrimmages next week as it's the last week and we need to evaluate players anyhow so this will make it easier.  Each coach will run their own practices and Rory will either run a station and have each group cycle through or come by each of your practices and work with your team.  (HOPE this works for EVERYONE!)

Focus skill: off ball movement and width & depth/support

Warm up-
Boys -Mass warm up led by Chris Macdonald or another designated coach

Girls-individual team warm up is numbers passing game.  Each player gets a number and then they must pass to the next number 1 passes to two, two to three etc...go this way a couple of times and then go in reverse order.  The girls must be in constant motion without the ball and talking to help team mates.  Cut to the ball to receive pass when it's your turn.  They may not pass in a circle, get them moving.  Then add a defender (or two).  (get them working on opening up to the play, width, support etc...).

Game:  Alley soccer (Erik S)
Create two alleys on either side of your field and put a player from each team or if numbers are short one player in the alley who then must pass back to the team who played them the ball.  Focus on playing to width (wingers in the alley).  In order to score must use the alley once (twice?).  You may not check the alley players and only alley players allowed in the alley.

Technical session:

(Johannes & Felix)
Basic pass and move focus on opening up drill - very important for all players but particularly wing players.(working on following your pass and opening up as you receive...first drill on link only)

(Chris and Aiden)
Basic 2v1 in a grid.  Focus on good first touch and passing angles and moving after you pass the ball to always establish a better passing angle.

(Corbett)

2v2 +1 drill.  Working still on passing angles and support of the ball, using shape to get shooting chances and the uneven number.

Game:  intersquad scrimmage with your team.
