U 4/5 - June 5

Crazy Hair Day!! Looking forward to seeing your creative hair stye on Wednesday.

Stations this week.
Same set up as a couple of weeks ago. Please find ways to get the parent involved and having fun.

2 sets of 4 stations will be set up.  Each Coach will run one station for the entire time.  Teams 1-4 will be one set of stations and teams 5-8 will be the second set of stations.  Please arrive with enough time to set up your station.  I will switch the stations every 8 minutes. There will not be a game at the end of the session. Rather, each team will have an opportunity to play a scrimmage as part of the stations. Use parents to help move kids to next station and participate where necessary.  If you are coaching your child and they don't feel they can move through stations with another parent or the other coach on your team, just keep them with you until they are comfortable to move on. Remember to walk or jog the boundary of your area/drill with kids.  Have players partner up with their caregiver for any partner activities.  At end of session we will have a BIG cheer, a snack and social.  Don't forget to give a water break especially if it's warmer out!

Station #1: Pac Man Gird (15x15)  Lillian/Pat and Kelly/Meghan
All kids have ball and try to hit you with a pass (you don't want to be hit).  Working on good passing technique.  You may have to create a zone for you that the kids can't enter (small square in middle of grid and then move to no square and everyone moving). You can progress to them kicking the ball with their laces and trying to hit you.

(this video all demos passing technique with cues.

Station #2- Hairy Numbers Game    Elmer, Dan, Jocelyn/ Patrick
Set up a small grid with goals at both ends.  Separate players into 2 teams lined up at each end beside their goal.  Number players 1,2,3,4,5 etc. Call out a number. Coach rolls out ball at center line and numbered player on each team must try to win ball and then either defend their goal or attack the other goal. Progress to calling out more than one number and encourage players on same team to work together to score. . Add a goalkeeper

Station #3: Ball Literacy - Nuts and Squirrels   Kristine/Jesse
Teams are divided into 3/4 groups - each group is given a different colored pinni. All the balls positioned in middle square. On coaches command 1 player from each group collects a ball (nut) from the middle. Player dribbles ball back to their triangle (tree) – next player can go when the ball is stopped in the triangle. When the coach stops the game, the team with the most balls (nuts) in their triangle wins the game. You may want to start game with players bringing balls back with their hands then move onto them dribbling ball back.

Station #4: Scrimmage: 3 v 3 small field.    Megan, Mark/Nikki,Steph

Have a hairy time!
