U 6 - June 5

Crazy Hair Day!! Looking forward to seeing your creative hair stye on Wednesday.

Stations this week.
Same set up as a couple of weeks ago.
Each Coach will run one station for the entire time.   Please arrive with enough time to set up your station.  I will switch the stations every 8 minutes. There will not be a game at the end of the session. Rather, each team will have an opportunity to play a scrimmage as part of the stations. Use parents to help move kids to next station and participate where necessary.  At end of session we will have a snack and a loud, enthusiastic cheer.

Station #1: Pac Man Gird (15x15)    Peter and Eleanor
Coach please review passing technique.
All kids have ball and try to hit you with a pass (you don't want to be hit).  Working on good passing technique.  You may have to create a zone for you that the kids can't enter (small square in middle of grid and then move to no square and everyone moving). You can progress to them kicking the ball with their laces (shooting technique) and trying to hit you.

Station #2: Ball Literacy - Hairy Shark attack    Natalie, Alexis and Chloe
Coach to review dribbling skills and how to protect your ball from  others (sharks).
Players have a ball each. Players must keep ball within a defined area . What out for the shark (coach) who will come and try to take balls away from the players. If player's balls is kicked out they must leave the grid and practice a skill (3 toe taps etc) and then they should return to grid. You can progress to having players as sharks and they try to steal a ball from a player and k

Station #3: Ball Literacy - Nuts and Squirrels    Koreen and Marek
Teams are divided into 3/4 groups - each group is given a different colored pinni. All the balls positioned in middle square. On coaches command 1 player from each group collects a ball (nut) from the middle. Player dribbles ball back to their triangle (tree) – next player can go when the ball is stopped in the triangle. When the coach stops the game, the team with the most balls (nuts) in their triangle wins the game.

Station #4: Chain Soccer   Vanita
Set up a small grid, depending on number of players. Separate players/parents into 2 teams. Number players 1,2,3,4,5 etc. Call out a number. That numbered player/parent combo from each team enters into the field to challenge for the ball. Players try to score on opposing side while defending their own side. Parents and players not called can act as goalies on their side.

Station #5: Clean Your Room.  Kristine and Stephanie
Coaches demonstrate proper passing and shooting technique.
Split grid in half and place half of player in each half grid with balls.  They must PASS not kick ball into other half of grid, keeping your half of room clean until coach says done.  Count balls in each half. Progress to having them kick ball into other room using their laces.

Station #6: Scrimmage: 3 v 3, small field   James

Have a hairiy time!
